The Eye Bank of British Columbia was established in 1983 as a provincial referral centre. It is part of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. We acquire, process and distribute eye tissue around the province in order to do corneal transplants and scleral grafts. Donated tissue that is not suitable for transplant can be used for medical research.
Our primary goal is to reduce the waiting list for corneal transplants.

Please note that the Eye Bank of British Columbia (EBBC) does not solicit funds directly from donor or recipient families.
There is currently an organization that contacts donor and recipient families door to door and by telephone for financial donations. The EBBC is in no way affiliated with this organization. If you are contacted by any person or organization for money, please ensure that you are aware of this fact prior to contributing to that person or organization.
